Day 01 : Arrive Paro
On arrival at Paro airport,
immigration and custom
formalities and then received by
our representative, for about 2
hours interesting drive to
Thimphu, the modern capital town
of Bhutan. Evening free.
Overnight at the hotel in
Thimphu.
Day 02 : Thimphu/Punakha
Thimphu, perhaps the most
unusual capital city in he
world. Is a bustling town, which
is he home to the Bhutanese
Royal Family, the Royal
Government, and Judiciary and to
several foreign missions and
development projects.
Morning visit to Tashichhodzong,
the main secretariat building
which houses the throne room of
His Majesty, the King of Bhutan.
Also it is summer residence of
Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot.
Bhutan’s National Library is
located close to the Art School
and contains arguably the best
collection of historical and
religious literatures in the
Himalayas. Bhutan has its own
brand of Himalayan medicines and
this can be seen at the
Indigenous Hospital near to the
Art School. Afternoon visit, the
Memorial Chorten, a pious
landmark for Thimphu’s residents
erected in 1974 by the mother of
third King in memory of her son.
Visit to one of the Handicrafts
Emporium would be interesting
which offers wide assortment of
beautifully hand-woven and
crafted products. Also visit the
Textile and Folk Heritage Museum
opened in 2001.
Evening drive to Punakha across
Dochula pass (10,500) feet).
Overnight at the hotel in
Punakha.
Day 03 :
Punakha/Wangduephoidrang/Paro
Punakha served as the capital of
Bhutan until 1955. The town of
Punakha, while dominated by its
Dzong houses sacred artifacts
and the embalmed body of
Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
Later drive to Wangduephodrang,
the last town on the highway
before entering central Bhutan.
Sitting on top of the hill
looking our over the junction of
two rivers, Wangduephodrang’s
formidable Dzong is the town’s
most visible feature. In the
17th Century, Wangdue played a
critical role in unifying
western, central and southern
Bhutanese districts. Also visit
here local market.
After lunch drive to Paro en
route visiting Simtokha Dzong.
Built in 1627, the oldest Dzong
in Bhutan houses the School for
Buddhist studies.
Arrive Paro and check into
hotel. Overnight at the hotel in
Paro.
Day 04 : Paro
The valley of Paro contains a
wealth of attractions. Morning
visit castle shaped Ta Dzong.
Once a watchtower built to
defend Rinpung Dzong during
inter-valley wars of the 17th
century, Ta Dzong has housed the
nation’s heritage, Bhutan’s
National Museum since 1967. Then
walk down on trail to visit
Rinpung Dzong, which has a long
and fascinating history.
After drive to ruins of Drukgyal
Dzong, 18 km from Paro town on
the north side of the valley. It
was from here that the Bhutanes
repealed several invading
Tibetan armies during the 17th
century. Also visit Kichu
Lhakhang, one of the oldest and
the most sacred shrines of the
Kingdom.
Evening visit to a traditional
farm houses which offers
opportunity to mingle with local
people and to get idea on their
life style. Later visit few
Handicraft Souvenir shops.

Day 05 : Paro depart
After break fast drive to Paro
airport for flight to onward
destination.
